About Us
It started with a friend’s request for white chicken chili.
After the first batch sold this request quickly multiplied and grew into a small supper club run out of chef Jennifer McCullough’s home.
In 2009 this supper club inspired the creation of The Uptown Grocer.
A native Memphian raised on fine Southern cuisine, Jennifer has been cooking for years.
She began taking culinary classes on the weekends as an undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin and then trained in classical French cuisine at The Cooking School of the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado.
After working in bakeries and restaurants around the world for several years, Jennifer's love of creating fine food culminated in the creation of her own company.
Since its humble beginnings in her home's small kitchen, The Uptown Grocer has been dedicated to bringing convenient fine food to families' tables.
The focus on fresh ingredients and classic techniques has grown The Uptown Grocer's popularity among busy people who appreciate good food but don't have the time to create gourmet meals.
Today The Uptown Grocer’s grocery line includes spreads, dips, and sauces found in supermarkets across the United States.
